Underwood has represented hundreds of landowners across Texas in obtaining fair compensation for their land in condemnation and eminent domain proceedings.

Underwood’s Condemnation practice attorneys understand the complexities of eminent domain law and can assist clients in receiving adequate compensation. We represent clients in all manner of condemnation proceedings, including streets and highways, electric transmission lines, water lines, pipelines, inverse condemnation matters, and renewable energy construction, such as wind and solar farms.

Underwood’s team includes attorneys Board Certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Civil Litigation with extensive trial experience, as well as Board Certified attorneys in Civil Appellate Law.

The condemnation process can be complex, and experienced legal counsel is essential to help clients make informed decisions about their case and avoid costly mistakes.

Our Successes

Representation of landowners against the state of Texas in takings for highways. These include: increase in compensation from approximately $22,000,000 to approximately $34,000,000 regarding a highway expansion and an increase in compensation from approximately $26,000 to over $500,000, regarding a highway taking.

Representation of landowners in negotiating terms of easements and compensation for electric transmission lines against virtually all of the major transmission companies.

Representation results in increases in compensation over the amount landowners can obtain themselves, and better easement terms to protect their land.
