Underwood Shareholder Slater C. Elza has been invited to present his updated paper “Duties, Obligations and Potential Liability for Signing Legal Opinion Letters” at the Texas City Attorney’s Annual Summer Conference.  The program will be offered virtually in June.  Slater is an elected member and the current Recorder of the Texas City Attorneys’ Association Board of Directors and the head of Underwood’s Municipal Law Section.

Alan Rhodes recently participated in a presentation to combined business classes at Lubbock Christian University. Alan spoke about his relationship with Chirag Patel, one of NewcrestImage principals who attended a semester of school in Claude, Texas. Alan told Chirag’s story of saying: “we weren’t broke when we arrived. I knew I had $20; my brother had $20; and my dad had $20. We were in good shape.”

Other presenters included Mayor Ginger Nelson, speaking about “stepping outside their comfort zones” when pursuing future careers and Mehul Patel, chairman/CEO of NewcrestImage telling his story as a first-generation immigrant, learning the English Language and the hospitality business.

Autum Flores to present “Employment Matters”  at the Legal Aid of Northwest Texas Virtual Community Law Conference. The Legal Aid of Northwest Texas is partnering with attorneys and community agencies to help those understand important changes in the law.

Autum primarily focuses her practice on labor and employment counseling, regulatory practice, and litigation. As part of her labor and employment practice, Ms. Flores frequently consults with employers in relation to a wide range of labor and employment-related questions and issues.
