James Wester
Following James Wester’s retirement from Underwood, he continues to work with various Underwood attorneys. Prior to retirement, he was active in Underwood’s Renewable Energy Group in an effort to bring value to clients in the growing wind, solar and renewable energy industries in the Texas Panhandle region. James continues to transition his representation of landowners, developers, transmission service providers and other stakeholders in various aspects of development and contractual negotiations. Because economic development incentives are an important factor for renewable energy projects, a portion of his practice included tax abatement agreements and tax limitation agreements with school districts, hospital districts, regional medical centers and counties.
James continues to transition his real estate practice which includes legal issues relating to acquiring, financing, developing, managing, constructing, leasing and selling agriculture, commercial and residential real estate; mortgages and refinancing, 1031 tax-deferred exchanges; and issues related to easements, property taxes and title, title curative and title insurance matters.
