Underwood Attorney Presented to West Texas Area Employers Regarding I-9 Compliance

The enforcement trends for I-9 compliance amongst all types of employers have sky-rocketed in the last two years and many employers has experienced thousands of dollars in civil penalties as a result. 

 On January 25, 2012, Attorney Ronn Garcia provided a legal training on the importance of I-9 Compliance, as part of the “Lunch with Lawyers”—series offered through the Region 18 Education Service Center.  In this in-depth training, Mr. Garcia focused on significant issues, including proper completion of the I-9 form, making corrections, reverification issues, retention and storage, USCIS Workforce Enforcement Strategy, preventing I-9 violations, avoiding discrimination issues, and the need for self-audit.
