Texas Stampede Goes to Denmark

Over the last decade, our trade area has enjoyed several relocations and investments from Denmark and Germany.  Most of the transactions relate to agriculture, in particular dairies.  One transaction related to a component part manufacturer for the wind industry.

As a result of our work in Denmark Alan Rhodes, James Wester and Bart Wagenvoort enjoyed the opportunity to present at Landbrugsadvokater international annual meeting in Amsterdam in 2010.  The Landbrugsadvokater group then chose to hold its next annual meeting in Texas and arrived in Amarillo on April 30, 2011.

Your fellow countrymen and women enjoyed a taste of Texas and met the leaders of economic development entities from several cities and from their trade organization, The High Ground of Texas.  The High Ground is a regional economic development organization covering the northern 66 counties in Texas.  Aggressive incentives, impressive infrastructure and strong regional collaboration makes the High Ground region strategically located for diverse and dynamic economic growth.

High Ground members are excited to learn about the superior business climate in Denmark while also sharing information about the assets of the High Ground region.   Our group of 25 looks forward to meeting with you in a setting that is conducive to learning about the dynamic economic development activity taking place in both our countries.

We arrive on September 27.  On Wednesday, September 28, The High Ground of Texas, KPMG Denmark and the Underwood Law Firm will co-host an Economic Development Seminar at the Munkebjerg Hotel in Vejle.    The seminar will focus on the wind capacities in our area and the transmission lines being constructed to facilitate the wind harvest.  Additional topics will include the status of manufacturing and distribution opportunities in the region.   We hope you will join us for our seminar on September 28.  If you’re not in a position to attend but would like to visit with some of our group, please contact Jennifer Volmer at Jennifer.Volmer@uwlaw.com.
