On January 3, 2012, the Texas Board of Legal Specialization announced that Misti Janes, one of the paralegals in the Underwood Law Firm’s Family Law Section, became Board Certified in family law. Board Certification is a voluntary designation program for attorneys and paralegals. Besides meeting the eligibility requirements to apply for board certification, Ms. Janes was among the few applicants who passed the required four-hour written examination in family law.

The other members of Underwood’s Family Law Section are board certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Both Sally Holt Emerson and Christopher K. Wrampelmeier are board certified attorneys in family law. Nancy Gormley, the other paralegal in the Underwood Law Firm’s Family Law Section, was board certified in family law in 1995. Ms. Janes joins Ms. Gormley as two of the three family law board certified paralegals in Amarillo, Texas and in the Texas Panhandle.
