Mr. Loftin is a shareholder who began practicing law in 1975 when he joined the Underwood Law Firm. He has been board certified in Civil Trial Law and Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 1983. While he has defended clients in virtually every type of civil litigation during his career, his primary focus for the past ten years has been defending serious injury and death cases. He serves as lead defense counsel for a tertiary care hospital in Amarillo. He has defended many Section 1983 Civil Rights lawsuits. He often represents employers in employment discrimination lawsuits and serves as counsel for the employer in labor arbitrations. Mr. Loftin is frequently asked to serve as a mediator and has conducted over 700 mediations.
