Sally Holt Emerson heads the Family Law Section of the Underwood Law Firm. She has been practicing law for over 32 years, and has practiced exclusively in the area of Family Law since 1990. She was board certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Certification in 1991. After growing up in Amarillo, Texas, she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish from Texas Tech University, and her Juris Doctorate from Texas Tech School of Law. Ms. Emerson handles family law matters in all of the 26 counties of the Texas Panhandle. Her cases consist of litigated matters as well as collaborative law matters, and she is frequently hired as a mediator in family law disputes.
She is fluent in Spanish and represents many Spanish-speaking clients. Ms. Emerson has been named as a “Texas Super Lawyer” by Texas Monthly Magazine every year from 2003 through 2011, and as one of the top 50 Women Attorneys in the State of Texas in their 2008, 2010 and 2011 “Super Lawyers” publications. She has been married for 30 years to 320th District Court Judge Don Emerson, and they are the parents of two grown sons.
