He graduated from Hereford High School and completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Plant Science-Agronomy from West Texas A&M University in Canyon, Texas. He was employed as a research assistant at Texas A&M University in College Station while earning his Master’s degree, and participated in numerous field studies involving herbicide drift and efficacy. Mr. Sciumbato served as manager of the Pesticide Fate Research Laboratory while working towards his Ph.D., supervising studies requiring pesticide detection and quantitation in both soil and water, as well as research involving herbicide drift and crop injury. He is currently licensed to practice law in both Texas and New Mexico.
