Joint Election / Department of Justice Pre-Clearance Reminder

School districts, cities, and other political subdivisions are encouraged to review and/or draft Joint Election Agreements (JEAS) for the May 10, 2008 election during the months of February and March. New JEAs and some changes to previous JEAs will need to be submitted to the Department of Justice (DOJ) for pre-clearance review. Submissions should be delivered to the DOJ no later than sixty (60) days prior to the election, or March 11, 2008.
