Underwood Cooking Team Now Serving Chili Thursday, January 18, 2007 The Underwood Cooking Team competed in the Tri-State Open Chili Championship competition on January 12, 2006 at the Amarillo Fairgrounds. The annual event supports the Texas Plains Chapter of the Make-a-Wish Foundation. Although seasoned veterans at brisket and burger competitions, this event was Team Underwood's first official foray into the world of sanctioned chili competitions. Team Underwood did not win any awards in its inaugural competition but is determined to improve its recipe until a trip to the championship in Terlingua, Texas is earned. Underwood attorneys Slater Elza, Andrea L. Slater Gulley, and Matthew J. Whitten did not sustain any serious injuries in the effort. Mr. Whitten serves on the board of directors for Texas Plains Make-a-Wish. If you would like to support the chapter in any way, please feel free to contact him. |
