Northwestern Alumus Gavin Gadberry To Speak At Commencement

During the commencement ceremony on Dec. 7 at Northwestern Oklahoma State University, 1986 alumus Gavin J. Gadberry will speak to graduates as they begin a new journey in their lives.
Gadberry graduated with a bachelor of science in business administration/mass communications from Northwestern then continued on to get his law degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1989.
He served as chair of the American Health Care Association’s legal subcommittee from 2002 through 2003. He currently serves as general counsel of the Texas Health Care Association and also is an issue lobbyist for the association.
Gadberry has been a speaker on numerous occasions at the American Health Lawyers Association’s Annual Long Term Care and the Law Seminar. He is a contributing author to the Long Term Care Handbook: Regulatory, Operational and Financial Guide Post, Second Edition.
Texas Lawyer spotlighted Gadberry as one of 40 up-and-comers under 40 in its “40 Under 40” special publication. He received the Chair’s Award at the 2004 Texas Health Care Association Convention for his efforts on tort reform in 2003. Gadberry’s primary areas of practice are government relations, long term care and healthcare law, administrative and regulatory law and general civil litigation.
He currently is a shareholder in the Amarillo, Texas, law firm of Underwood, Wilson, Berry, Stein & Johnson, P.C.
He and his wife Laura have a cow/calf partnership with his parents, John and Tootie, on their family ranch near Follett, Texas. The Gadberry’s have two children Dylan, 15, and Devon, 13.
